Almaty. September 2. Silkroadnews – The situation on the Kyrgyz-Uzbek border unadjusted site remains unchanged, KyrTAG writes.

«The current situation on the unadjusted site of the state border of Ungar-Too remains unchanged», the statement by the Department of Public Relations and Mass Media of the State Border Service (SBS) of Kyrgyzstan reported.

Two helicopters Mi-8 of Uzbekistan landed in Ungar-Too on September 2 to carry out change of staff of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and deliver drinking water. Currently 15-20 Uzbek military servants stay at Ungar-Too.

The Kyrgyz site pulled in additional number of troops to serve at the border in this area.

To remind, 7 officers of Interior Ministry of Uzbekistan landed on the territory of Kyrgyzstan TV tower repeater on August 22 at the site of frontier “Kerben” of Ala-Bukinsky border detachment on a disputed area of Ungar-Too. The landing was carried out from MI-8 helicopters. Later four Kyrgyz citizens, employees of the radio relay station Ungar-Too, were detained in the Yangikurgan police department of Uzbekistan for the purposes of procedural measures. The representatives of the Uzbek border service said there are no reasons for concern regarding the detained Kyrgyz citizens.

According to Kyrgyzstan's SBS, Uzbekistan has temporarily closed the checkpoints on the state border. On Wednesday, August 24, Kyrgyz border guards have taken measures to strengthen the protection of the state border with Uzbekistan.

Earlier, to settle the incident, the Kyrgyz side in presence of representatives of the territorial bodies of Kyrgyzstan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and National Security Service Department of Uzbekistan delivered to the Uzbek side A.Tozhibaev, the guard service department officer at the Department of Internal Affairs of Kasansay region of Uzbekistan, arrested by the Kyrgyz border guards on August 13.

The Kyrgyz Border Service reports, the Uzbek side continues to demand to remove Kyrgyz police stations around Ortho-Tokoy reservoir located at the border with Uzbekistan. Being located on the territory of Kyrgyzstan, the reservoir has been remaining in use by Uzbekistan since the Soviet Union times. Recently the Kyrgyz government has decided to put the Ortho-Tokoy reservoir on the balance of the republic.
