The term of contract military service increased to 5 years in Uzbekistan

Almaty. September 27. Silkroadnews – The term of contract military service was increased to 5 years in Uzbekistan, Uzbek Telegraph Agency (UzTAG) reports.

The due changes in the law «On Universal Military Duty and Military Service» have been approved by the Acting President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

«According to the amendments introduced, now the original contract with the persons coming to active contract military service is made for five years. The new contract with the militaries is also made for five years or for a shorter period if less than five years remains prior to reaching age limit for military service», the document says.

Earlier the original contract on service depended on the rank. So, for the junior enlisted and non-commissioned officers the contracts were made for three years, for the officers – for five years.
