Almaty. June 23. Silkroadnews – In 2018 through 2020 Washington plans to allocate $3 billion a year to support the Afghan security forces, U.S. Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan Richard Olson said, AfTAG reports.

He also mentioned that along with the support of law enforcement agencies there shall be assistance in other areas as well. In particular, the U.S. government intends to propose to Congress to provide $1 billion per year for reconstruction and economic development of Afghanistan during this period.

“These are the investments into our own security,” R. Olson said having noted that the decision to reduce the U.S. military contingent in Afghanistan will be made with great caution.
