Almaty. October 6. Silkroadnews - the United States and 11 countries of Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP)  reached an agreement on a treaty, which involves the creation of a free trade area in the Asia-Pacific region, reported the newspaper "Kommersant".
"Completed on Monday in Atlanta, US talks on the formation of TPP were carried out since 2005. Their goal was to create a free trade area in the Asia-Pacific region. This is the total elimination of customs duties, harmonization of sanitary and phytosanitary measures on a common policy in the sphere of protection of intellectual property rights, government procurement and competition policy", - says the publication.
Thus, a partnership made up of 12 member countries: the United States, Australia, Brunei, Vietnam, Canada, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, Chile and Japan. They account for 40% of world GDP and more than a quarter of world trade.
According to the US State Department, in TPP will be canceled duties for more than 18 thousand goods. Fully parameters compromise on trade in TPP are not made public.
The negotiations as a whole were in an atmosphere of secrecy.
From leaks of the media it is known that agreement was finally reached. Thus, the United States and Australia, negotiated on the term of patent protection in the United States of new biological drugs. New Zealand as the largest exporter of dairy products reached access to the US market and the US - on the indoor farmers market of Japan. Meanwhile, separate agreements partially open and unify labor market of the participants of the TPP, resolve issues of environmental load, online trade, and services.
TPP will start to function no earlier than in 2016, as will be ratificated in 12 countries.
