The US and China to cooperate not to compete in the Asia-Pacific region, Xi Jinping said

Almaty. June 6. Silkroadnews – Speaking at the opening ceremony of the China-U.S. Strategic and Economic Dialogue Chinese President Xi Jinping said the Asia-Pacific region shall be a space to cooperate, not to compete.
“The vast Pacific should be a stage for cooperation, not an area for competition,” President Xi said in particular.
The Chinese leader also noted it is “normal” to have some contrasts between China and the United States.
“As long as two sides work to resolve the contradictions and pressing issues on the basis of mutual respect and equity, bilateral relations can avoid serious complications,” he emphasized.
