The volume of China’s export and import fell by 15.7% in February

Almaty. March 9. Silkroadnews – This February China’s foreign trade reached 1.43 trillion yuan ($220.6 billion), having declined by 15.7% compared with February 2015, Xinhua news agency says.
Thus, according to the China’s General Administration of Customs, export amounted to 821.8 billion yuan (a 20.6% drop), import amounted to 612.3 billion yuan (8% decrease).
The statistics shows, in February the trade surplus amounted to 209.5 billion yuan, i.e. a decline of 43.3%.
In the first two months of this year China’s foreign trade turnover amounted to 3.31 trillion yuan, having declined by 12.6%. Export and import totaled 1.96 trillion and 1.35 trillion yuan respectively, with 13.1% and 11.8% decrease. Trade surplus decreased by 15.9 % to 615.9 billion yuan.
In January-February China’s trade with its largest trading partner of the EU fell by 9.7% to 516.06 billion yuan. China’s trade with the United States, ASEAN countries and Japan amounted to 471.14 billion, 398.73 billion and 245.68 billion yuan respectively (12.2%, 14.9% and 6.7% reduction).
For the first two months of the year the export and import of the Chinese private enterprises fell by 7.3% to 1.29 trillion yuan. Their share within the country’s foreign trade increased by 2.2 percentage points.
