The volume of freight traffic on r/w Iran-Turkmenistan-Kazakhstan in 2016 will reach 10 million tons
Almaty. April 22. Silkroadnews - Up to 10 million tons will be transported by railway Iran-Turkmenistan-Kazakhstan in 2016, reports Trend.
"The volume of cargo transportation by railway Iran-Turkmenistan-Kazakhstan in the coming year will reach 10 million tons", - quoted the Iranian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Mohammad Musa Hashemi Gyulpaegani.
According to him, a minor traffic volumes on the railroad linked with a number of technical problems, one of which is a narrow gauge railroad of Iran, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan - wide track.
"Now carried out the technical work to solve this problem. If it is resolved, the cargo will be accelerated and increased the number of trains. At the moment the cargo is carried to Turkmenistan, supplied cement from the port of Bandar Abbas, and from Central Asia to the port carrying out the necessary goods", - he said.
He also added that during the visit of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani Turkmenistan signed a joint document between the two countries, which stressed the need to bring the volume of freight to 10 million tons.
Opening of the Iran-Turkmenistan-Kazakhstan took place in December last year.
