The World Bank announced its readiness to increase financial assistance to Kyrgyzstan

Almaty. September 23. Silkroadnews – Kyrgyz Prime Minister Sooronbay Jeenbekov met with the Regional Director for the Central Asia Region at the World Bank Lilia Burunciuc, KyrTAG writes.

During the meeting the parties discussed the current state of interaction and prospects for further cooperation. They marked the progress in implementation of projects in energy, transport infrastructure and agriculture sectors. «Dairy sector's productivity increase in the Issyk-Kul region» was named among the most successful projects as providing for the development of the dairy industry, fodder production, veterinary services, investment support for farmers, as well as improving the export potential of dairy products to neighboring countries.

S. Jeenbekov reminded at present the Government implements «Trust and unity» program of the Kyrgyz Republic designed on the basis of the national strategy for sustainable development of the Kyrgyz Republic for 2013-2017. The documents on the medium- and long-term development of the country are under development now.

In her turn L. Burunciuc noted the bank's management decided to raise the funding of projects in Kyrgyzstan compared to previous years. The priority projects will be the ones in the areas of energy, transport and road infrastructure.
