Almaty. October 5. Silkroadnews - The World Bank downgraded its forecasts for 2015 and 2016 on the growth of the economies of East Asia and the Pacific region, reported RBC.
"The outlook has been aggravated by the risk of a sharp drop in the Chinese market and the possible consequences of the expected increase in the key rate in the US. World Bank forecasts for the developing countries of East Asia and the Pacific, including China, in economic growth is -  6.5% in 2015 and 6.4% in 2016, compared to 6.8% in 2014",- said in a publication.
WB said that the revision of the regional growth forecasts mainly reflects a moderate slowdown in China's economy. According to the forecast company, China's growth will be 6.9% in 2015 and 6.7% in 2016 compared to 7.3% in 2014.
The previous forecast for China showed growth of 7.1% in 2015 and 7% in 2016.
A further weakening of Asian currencies against the US dollar may lead to deformation of the balance in countries with significant dollar debts, says the World Bank. Such risks are particularly high in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam, the organization adds.
