Almaty. December 5. Silkroadnews - The world’s largest Starbucks store has been opened in China, CNN reported.
“The company’s latest quarterly earnings were pretty gloomy, showing disappointing sales growth in a tough retail environment. The one bright spot was China, which stood out as Starbucks’ fastest growing market. Sales there were up 8% compared with the same quarter last year,” the report said.
It is noted that the company is actively developing in China, opening a new Starbucks store every 15 hours on average.
Despite the fact that the Chinese traditionally prefer tea and drink less coffee than Americans, growing numbers of consumers still consider Starbucks an attractive brand. Using this, the company opens a new store in Shanghai.
Reportedly the store will be opened in the tourist area, where there are many pedestrians, offices and residential buildings.
Coffee beans will be roasted right in the store, in a large copper cask. In addition, the store will sell different kinds of tea.
The agency reports, Starbucks actively cooperates with the Chinese Internet giant Alibaba, advertising the upcoming opening of the store. Customers can book a tasting of coffee on the Alibaba website, as well as buy special Starbucks Reserve coffee and other products related to the opening of the store.
It is noted, Starbucks has already signed an agreement to open even larger store with an area of 43,000 square feet in Chicago scheduled for 2019.
