This September AIIB to consider applications from over 30 countries requested the status of a member of the Bank

Almaty. August 26. Silkroadnews – This September the Asian infrastructure investment bank (AIIB) will start the procedure to consider applications for status of bank's member state from more than 30 countries, «Xinhua» agency reported.

«AIIB should adopt and borrow the successful experience of existing multilateral structures of development, yet the point in case here is about the innovation development not cloning», the publication says with reference to the AIIB president Jin Liqun.

According to him, within its structure the AIIB created an innovative mechanism of control and quite a transparent reporting mechanism and also developed a package of policies on relations between the society and the environment.

Earlier he said that by the end of the year the AIIB will expand the number of its members from 57 to about 100 countries and regions.

To remind, the AIIB, whose headquarters is located in Beijing, was officially established at the end of last year with a $100 billion capital. The Bank gives priority to investments in energy, electricity generation, transportation, rural infrastructure, environmental protection and logistics.
