Almaty. February 10. Silkroadnews – This year the military operations in Afghanistan between the government forces and the radical elements will get activated. This forecast is provided by the report of the Director of US National Intelligence James Clapper, Afghan News Agency (AfTAG) informs.
“We believe the fighting in 2016 will be more intense to compare with 2015. This will continue a 10-year trend toward deterioration of the security situation (in Afghanistan),” - says American intelligence.
In their opinion, “the fighting will continue to threaten the military personnel of the US, allies and international partners, including Afghans, especially in Kabul and other residential areas.”
From the point of view of the US intelligence agencies, the Afghan authorities “will not be able to take effective measures due to the falling economy (in the country) or start to reduce their dependence on the foreign aid unless they first hold back” the militants.
This year, the Afghan government, as the American intelligence believe, “will continue to face the persistent obstacles on the way toward the political stability”. Among the other things the question is also about the “the political unity dilution”, challenges by the local authorities and other tribal leaders, the report by J. Clapper, who formally coordinates the operations of all 16 US intelligence agencies, informs.
For the US armed forces, the war in Afghanistan has become the longest in the history. The operation has been launched by Washington back in October 2001. The military efforts were accompanied by the attempts to establish a reconstruction of the Afghan economy. Nevertheless, the results of this campaign, as it is now recognized in the US intelligence’s, are quite deplorable.
