This year the NSC prevented 70 citizens of Kazakhstan leaving for combat operations zones

Almaty. September 5. Silkroadnews – Kazakhstan's National Security Committee prevented 70 citizens of Kazakhstan leaving for combat operations zones this year, Chief of Staff of the Antiterrorist center of Kazakhstan Janat Saypoldayev said, KazTAG writes.

«In some way we have succeeded reducing the flow of recruits to the Middle East. Only this year the measures taken have prevented 70 citizens of the republic leaving for the combat operations zones», J. Saypoldayev said at the briefing in Astana on Monday.

He added, the criminal cases have been opened against the majority of combatants from Kazakhstan. These people have been put on the international wanted list, including the one of Interpol.  

According to J.Saypoldayev, terrorism and extremism propaganda avalanche is not getting declined on the Internet and social networks. Every month Kazakhstan neutralizes up to 70 thousand of cases of dissemination of extremist materials on the Internet, with a monthly average blocks of about 40 of links and resources, which content is directly intended for the Kazakhstani audience.

He also reminded that since the beginning of 2016 the security agencies neutralized illegal activity of four persons and eight radical groups in Astana, Karaganda, South Kazakhstan, West Kazakhstan, Atyrau, Almaty and Aktobe regions and seized seven firearms and ammunition, edged weapons, 8 kg of explosives items, improvised explosive devices.
