Almaty. March 16. Silkroadnews – To provide normal operation of industrial enterprises this year Tajikistan needs to produce 1.8 million tonnes of coal, Tajik Telegraph Agency (TajikTA) reported on Wednesday.

The Deputy Prime Minister of Tajikistan Azim Ibrohim, who analyzed the work of the republic’s coal mining industry and criticized it for the insufficiently high output required to meet the needs of the economy, stated that at the governmental meeting. To rectify the current situation, he assigned the heads of relevant structures to increase the volume of coal mining and provide for continuous delivery of fuel to Dushanbe and other regions of the country.

During the meeting it was reported that since the beginning of the year Tajikistan has produced 201 thousand tonnes of coal, which is a 40 thousand tonnes growth year-on-year. With this the Deputy Prime Minister stressed that the comparative growth of coal production should not calm the responsible officials in the industry, as the republic’s need exceeds the production growth.

Speaking on the tasks for the future, the Deputy Prime Minister noted that, tasked by the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, only in the capital more than 1500 high-rise buildings should be connected to the central heating networks in 2017-2018 heating season.
