Tourists are allowed to take photos and videos in Uzbekistan

Beijing. February 8. Silkroadnews - Uzbekistan eases strict rules prohibiting tourists to take pictures or video, the Uzbek Telegraph Agency (UzTAG) reports referring to the decree by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on boosting the tourism signed on February 6.
Photo and video shooting of public places, buildings and structures by tourists, except for the objects, list of which is approved by the legislation and marked with appropriate indexes on prohibition of all types of filming, can be carried out without any sort of restrictions, the report says.
Also, within two months the State Committee for Tourism Development together with the Ministry of Culture and the national agency “Uzbekkino” should submit to the Cabinet of Ministers a project allowing foreign creative groups to temporarily import and use on the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan unmanned aerial vehicles, including drones, to design and prepare photo and video materials about the tourist potential of the republic.
To remind, earlier the tourists were prohibited to take pictures or video in Uzbekistan, and the police was allowed to remove pictures from the tourists’ photographic equipment.
