Trade volume between Kazakhstan and China increased 30% to reach $1.3 billion over the first quarter of the year

Almaty. April 19. Silkroadnews – Askar Mamin, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, held negotiations with Zhang Gaoli, Vice Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, in Astana within the framework of the VIII session of the Kazakhstani-Chinese Cooperation Committee, the official site of the head of the Kazakhstani government informs.

According to the report, the parties discussed the situation and prospects of comprehensive strategic partnership, topical issues of bilateral relations, including trade and economic, energy, industrial-innovative, scientific-technical, financial, transport-logistical, agricultural, military-technical fields, cross-border and regional cooperation.

A. Mamin noted a qualitatively new level of investment cooperation. Working in partnership with the Kazakhstani companies the Chinese companies actively invest in joint projects. Over the first quarter of 2017 trade turnover between two states has increased by 30% to $1.3 billion year-on-year.

Currently 51 projects are being implemented in the field of industry, innovation, transport and logistics for a total amount of $27 billion.

An important area of cooperation, taking into account the growth of transit traffic between Kazakhstan and China, is the transport and logistics sector. Thus, the volume of container transportation grew 2.6 times for the 1st quarter of 2017 year-on-year.

A part of the committee meeting was a teleconference, during which the production start-up of ANKAI buses and crossovers was launched at the production site of “Saryarka Auto Prom” LLP in Kostanai oblast.

Within the framework of EXPO-2017 it is planned to hold the “Year of China Tourism in Kazakhstan” and celebration of the national day of China in Astana on July 5, 2017.

Following the results of the meeting A. Mamin and Z. Gaoli signed the protocol of the VIII meeting of the Kazakhstani-Chinese Cooperation Committee.
