Turkey is ready to increase the volume of purchase of Iranian gas in case of decrease in its price

Almaty. April 8. Silkroadnews - President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that his country is ready to buy from Iran even more natural gas if Tehran will make certain concessions in price, reported the Iranian News Agency (IrTAG).
"We buy 90-95% of the total exported by Iran natural gas. The most expensive natural gas that we import - is Iranian. If the price is reduced, we will, of course, increase the amount of purchased Iranian natural gas", - said Erdogan at a press conference in Tehran.
In turn, the president of Iran Hassan Rouhani stressed the need to intensify efforts to achieve a rapid mutual trade turnover to $30 billion a year from the current $14 billion. He also said that the decision to hold the third meeting of the Board is in the near future.
In addition, Erdogan suggested to move in trade settlements between the two countries to the national currencies of Turkey and Iran.
According to the publication, some sources have reported that Turkey pays $490 per thousand cubic meters of Iranian gas. At the same time, according to statements Turkish authorities, buy natural gas from Azerbaijan and Russia for $335 and $425 for 1 thousand cubic meters respectively.
As reminds agency, Erdogan arrived in Iran on an official visit on 7 April.
