Turkey specified date for Astana meeting of guarantor states’ Foreign Ministers on Syria
Beijing. February 20. Silkroadnews - Foreign Ministers of Russia, Turkey and Iran Sergey Lavrov, Mevlut Cavusoglu and Mohammad Javad Zarif will meet in the capital of Kazakhstan on March 16, the Kazakh Telegraph Agency (KazTAG) reports citing TASS.
Syrian talks between Turkey, Russia and Iran on Syria continue. The trilateral meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Turkey, Russia and Iran will be held in Astana on March 16, Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Bozdağ said at a press conference in Ankara on Monday.
B. Bozdağ also said touched on possible “meeting of foreign ministers in Moscow on March 14”, though did not specify its format.
Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif told reporters that in two weeks Astana will host the meeting of the three guarantor (for the cessation of hostilities in Syria) states at the level of foreign ministers to reduce the level of tension in Syria and pave the way for the summit in Istanbul to work over political settlement of the issue.
B. Bozdağ also told reporters about the upcoming meeting of Turkish and Russian presidents, which can be held in Turkey in early April, though a date to be specified. He noted, right after the country will host the Turkey-Russia-Iran summit on Syria.
