U.S. invested $76 billion to support Afghan security forces

Almaty. August 14. Silkroadnews – Washington has invested a total of $76 billion in programs to support the Afghan security forces, according to a report by the US Government Accountability Office, the Afghan Telegraph Agency (AfTAG) reports.
The funds, in particular, were allocated to supply 600 thousand units of firearms, 76 thousand vehicles, 208 helicopters.
Besides Afghan militaries received about 30 thousand devices to neutralize explosive devices and 16 thousand vehicles for reconnaissance, including drones.
The media reminded, in 2014 the NATO troops were withdrawn from Afghanistan, and from January 1, 2015, the non-combat Resolute Support mission was introduced with 13,500 servicemen involved, including more than 8 thousand U.S. military specialists mainly engaged in training and consulting Afghanistan’s security forces.
