UN confirmed Iran’s compliance with nuclear program deal

Almaty. January 19. Silkroadnews – The UN has confirmed Iran’s compliance with nuclear program deal, TASS reports.

“UN has not received any information on Tehran’s violation of the conditions of the deal reached with the P5+1 (five permanent members of the UN Security Council and Germany) since a nuclear agreement was implemented a year ago”, Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs Jeffrey Feltman said.

With this he noted, the statements by the leader of the Lebanese Shi’ite group Hezbollah saying Tehran supplies all of its weapons and missiles are of special concern for the Secretariat.

“Tehran did not clearly deny this information, as well as the reports on Iranian generals’ violations of the ban on foreign travel stating that the measures taken to combat terrorism”, J. Feltman said.

Under-Secretary-General also said that the deal with Iran is a great example of how diplomacy can solve the most complex challenges. He urged all the participants to the JCPOA to fully implement their commitments and also called the international community to facilitate the implementation of the agreement as much as possible.

On July 14, 2015, an agreement on the settlement of long-term issue of the Iranian atom was reported reached between Iran and P5+1. On January 16, 2016, the JCPOA started formally providing for removal of international sanctions earlier imposed on Iran in exchange for Iran restricting its nuclear activity and setting it under the full control of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
