Uniform requirements for liquefied petroleum gases will come into effect in the EEU in 2018
Almaty. August 10. Silkroadnews – Technical regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) “Requirements for liquefied petroleum gas for use as fuel” have been approved at the meeting of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, the board’s press service reported.
“The technical regulations have been designed to meet the requirements the countries use on the liquefied hydrocarbon gases. Their coming into force will ensure the free movement of goods on the territory of the Union without any additional costs by manufacturers meeting the national requirements’, Valery Koreshkov, EEC Member of the Board (Minister) for Technical Regulation said.
The document establishes uniform mandatory requirements for liquefied petroleum gases. It deals with gases produced in the territory of the EEU and used for domestic and industrial needs, including use as a motor fuel for road transport.
In addition, the regulations establish requirements for storage, transportation, sale and utilization, as well as labeling of liquefied petroleum gases. According to the document, the EEU countries will use the uniform quality certificate of liquefied hydrocarbon gases, including information on producer and actual values of standardized quality indicators.
Assessment of liquefied petroleum gases compliance with the technical regulations will be carried out in the form of certification of conformance. The quality certificate will include the EEU uniform market circulation mark (EAU – “Eurasian compliance”).
Regulation shall enter into force as of January 1, 2018.
