Union of Journalists commissions award for foreign Mass Media in Kazakhstan

Almaty. April 7. Silkroadnews – Kazakhstan’s Union of Journalists commissioned a prize for Foreign Mass Media covering Kazakhstan. The initiative is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
One needs to publish an article of up to 1500 words about Kazakhstam to be eligible for the “Kazakhstan through Eyes of Foreign Journalists” award. The publication needs to be dated between the 1st of April and 5th of June 2014. Submissions in English and Russian are accepted, as the union reports.
The award is to have 5 regional categories with a winner in each category: the Americas, Europe, CIS, Middle East, Asia, Australia and Oceania.
The winners will be invited to visit Astana, Almaty and Baikonur. Meetings with government officials, prominent public figures, scientists, experts and journalists are to be organised within the framework of their visit to Kazakhstan.
The submitted articles can cover a wide variety of issues. Some of them are economy, trade, cultural heritage and traditions, history, tourism and society.
