Up to 20 container trains per month will go to Almaty and Tashkent from the Chinese port of Lianyungang

Almaty. June 23. Silkroadnews - "Sino-Kazakh terminal in the port of Lianyungang in the period from May 2014 to the current time processed 65 thousand containers of 20-foot equivalent. About 130 thousand tonnes of goods were transported with the introduction of the railway. In February, was launched the container train Lianyungang - Almaty and Lianyungang - Tashkent. It is expected that in the second half of 2015 from the terminal will be sent 5 container trains a week through the same lines", - says the publication People's Daily.
As recalled the newspaper, the joint Sino-Kazakh terminal in the port of Lianyungang became operational in May 2014. It is designed to enhance the export-import and transit potential of Kazakhstan by rail, providing the shortest way to the Asia-Pacific and South-East Asia.
The terminal also provides the possibility of development of transit countries in the Asia-Pacific and South-East Asia to Central Asia, the Gulf States, Russia, the Caucasus and Europe via the territory of Kazakhstan.
