Upcoming Beijing Winter Olympics get sportswear manufacturers’ attention to China

Almaty. July 19. Silkroadnews – Foreign manufacturers of sports goods closely watch business opportunities expecting the Winter Olympics in Beijing, Chinese newspaper “People’s Daily” reports.
According to publication, China’s government measures to popularize winter sports in China on the eve of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games in 2022 contribute to rapid increase in sale of outdoor clothing brands at the sport suits market in China. Though snow is a rare phenomenon in the most areas of China, it does not have a negative impact on investors.
The public and private investments are aimed at creating ski resorts. The Chinese government required 1000 bases to be built by 2030.
Such overseas brands as Columbia and The North Face account for around 70% of the Chinese clothing market for winter sports. The market value is estimated at nearly 20 billion yuan. Last year growth of sales in sportswear in China reached 11% amounting to 187 billion yuan.
