Beijing. May 31. Silkroadnews - The US may announce introduction of tariffs on steel and aluminum from Europe, the Kazakh Telegraph Agency (KazTAG) reports with reference to Kommersant.
Reportedly, The Wall Street Journal, with reference to the sources, said, on May 31 the administration of the U.S. President Donald Trump may announce the introduction of tariffs on imports of steel and aluminum from Europe.
However, as one of the experts noted, the plans may change if the US and the European Union manage to reach a compromise.
On March 23 President Trump imposed a 25 percent tariff on steel imports and a 10 percent tariff on aluminum, the move that has actually complicated the U.S. economic relations with nearly all trading partners. Later the temporary exemptions to the EU, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Australia and Argentina, to remain in force until June 1.
