Almaty. September 18. Silkroadnews - Implementation of an agreement on Iran's nuclear program will not prevent the United States to impose sanctions against Iranian banks, if they finance extremist groups in the Middle East. It was declared by candidate for the post of Deputy Secretary of the Treasury for Terrorism and Financial Crimes Adam Zubin, reported the agency TASS.
"Against Iran has developed various kinds of American sanctions, including sanctions for the support of such groups as the "Hezbollah", which the US considers terrorist", - he recalled at a congressional hearing.
According to him, if these groups will receive funding through the Iranian banks, the sanctions mechanism will work immediately. This will happen even if these banks would be exempt from the sanctions, in accordance with the nuclear deal.
"Let's see how they will behave. It's their choice", - said A.Zubin.
