US will provide financial aid to Afghanstn at $5 billion
Almaty. October 28. Silkroadnews - US senators plan to increase financial aid to Afghanistan to continue to support the reconstruction of the country, informs Afghan news agency (AfTAG).
Notes that Afghanistan expects to receive an additional $5 billion to $8 billion in annual aid from the United States. However, US senators insist on holding certain reforms from Afghan goverment to take strict action against corruption and drug trafficking.
Democrats that make up the majority of the US Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, prepared a report, which is the benchmark for action of Afghan leaders seeking to receive billions of dollars of US aid.
Recall, the US government spent about $104 billion for the reconstruction of Afghanistan and support of the Afghan government, the military services and social services, starting with the overthrow of the Taliban regime in 2001.
