US will provide Pakistan with arms for almost $1 billion

Almaty. April 8. Silkroanews - The US government has approved the supply to Pakistan of helicopters, missiles and other military equipment worth about $1 billion, reports Afghan News Agency (AfTAG).
"The State Department has agreed to the possible sale of attack helicopters Viper AH-1Z, missiles Hellfire II, related equipment and spare parts for the sum of 952 million dollars", - says the publication.
In addition, the US is ready to train the technology and provide maintenance services "in the country for 66 months".
As noted, the Government of Pakistan has requested a possible sale of equipment, which will "provide military capabilities to counter-terrorism operations in South Asia".
Noted that in January of this year, the US gave Pakistan the weapons and ammunition used by the troops of International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan.
