Uzbek-China trade turnover exceeded $2.5 billion over six months

Almaty. September 11. Silkroadnews – In January-July 2017 the trade turnover between Uzbekistan and China exceeded 52.5 billion, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said at the meeting with China’s delegation headed by Meng Jianzhu on September 9, the Uzbek Telegraph Agency (UzTAG) reports.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted the dynamic development of mutually beneficial cooperation between Uzbekistan and China, press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported.
The state visit of Uzbekistan’s president to China held in May this year has raised  the countries’ bilateral relations to a qualitatively new level.
Today in cooperation with China’s companies and banking and financial institutions Uzbekistan realizes the priority investment projects in energy, oil and gas, chemical, machine-building, electrical engineering, and textile industries.
During the meeting the parties discussed the prospects for further practical cooperation between Uzbekistan and China, primarily in trade, economic, investment, financial and transport-communication fields.
“Meng Jianzhu expressed deep gratitude to the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev for the warm welcome and conveyed sincere greetings and best wishes of the President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping. The interest and readiness of the Chinese side to further strengthen relations of comprehensive strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and China are emphasized”, the publication says.
By the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for the great merits in strengthening friendship and multifaceted relations, deepening of long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries, as well as personal contribution to implementation of major economic and investment projects and development of comprehensive strategic partnership Meng Jianzhu was awarded the “Dustlik” order.
