Uzbek President Karimov took an oath for the new 5-year term

Almaty. April 10. Silkroadnews - The newly elected President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov on Friday brought the oath at a joint session of both houses of Parliament.
He promsed that in the next 5 years the country will continue to implement large-scale investment projects in industry, software localization of production, support for small and medium-sized businesses and employment.
"Foreign policy of Uzbekistan in the next 5 years will retain non-aligned status, and will not allow the placing on its territory of foreign military bases and troops outside the country", - said Islam Karimov.
Presidential elections were held in Uzbekistan on March 29, the victory for the 4th time took incumbent President Islam Karimov, who collected 90.39% of votes.
