Uzbekistan and Austria have agreed to cooperate in the environmental standards improvement

Almaty. February11. Silkroadnews - Uzbekistan and Austria signed an agreement in the ecology area, Uzbek Telegraph Agency (UzTAG) reports.
“The agreement between the State Committee of Uzbekistan for Nature Protection and the Austrian Environment Agency, providing for cooperation between the parties for the transfer of advanced technologies and practices, human resource potential improvement, improvement of the environmental norms and standards,” - said the statement.
The document was signed during the visit of the delegation of Uzbekistan headed by the chairperson of the State Committee for Nature Protection in Austria within the framework of preparation for XXIV OSCE Economic and Environmental Forum to be hold in May 2016.
In addition, a memorandum of understanding between the State Committee for Nature Protection and the Austrian Cluster “Eco World Styria Umwelttechnik Cluster GmbH” (a cluster of innovative companies in the field of environmental and energy technologies) providing for the cooperation of the parties in implementation of the joint projects and programs, investigations, exchange of visits by experts on the improvement of waste management system, as well as introduction of new technologies for wastewater treatment, alternative energy, pollution reduction
