Uzbekistan and Indonesia plan to strengthen bilateral ties
Almaty. August 6. Silkroadnews - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Uzbekistan on the eve met the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia Asruhin Mohamad, said Uzbek Telegraph Agency (UzTAG).
According to the Foreign Ministry, the sides exchanged views on the current issues of bilateral relations, confirmed the mutual desire to enhance inter-ministerial contacts, intensifying efforts to expand bilateral trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian ties.
Currently, between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Indonesia signed over 20 documents of a bilateral charater. The basic principles of relations between the two countries were recorded in the Uzbek-Indonesian Joint Statement from June 23, 1992 and the Joint Declaration on Principles of Relations and Cooperation on April 8, 1995.
In particular, at the Samarkand Institute of Economics and Service since 2001, exist a center for studying the Indonesian language, where every year are educated more than 20 students. Samarkand State Institute of World Languages opened a room of Indonesian language and culture, where also Indonesian is studied as an optional subject.
