Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan discussed the prospects for alternative ways of transportation of hydrocarbons
Almaty. August 1. Silkroadnews - Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan discussed the prospects for alternative ways of transportation of hydrocarbons, told KazTAG citing the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade (MFERIT) of Uzbekistan.
Subject of intensification of hydrocarbon transportation was one of the central problems in the course of the tenth meeting of the Uzbek-Turkmen commission on trade-economic, scientific-technical and cultural cooperation, which was held yesterday in Tashkent. Co-Chairs of the Commission on the Uzbek side was the Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, head of MFERIT Elyor Ganiev, from Turkmen side - Minister of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan Bayar Abaev.
The commission also discussed the issues of improving the production of products with high added value through joint involvement in investment.
Trade relations between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan are regulated by intergovernmental agreement for 2013-2017 period.
According to the Uzbek side, the trade turnover between the two countries by the end of 2013 increased by 7.4% - to $353.9 million., from January-June 2014 - to $145 million (growth - 4.5%).
