Uzbekistan announced amnesty dedicated to the Day of the Constitution

Almaty. December 4. Silkroadnews - Senate (upper house of parliament) of Uzbekistan at the plenary session on Thursday adopted a resolution on amnesty in connection with the 23rd anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution, reported UzTAG.
As noted, the document provides the exemption from punishment of women who have not reached 18 years at the time committing the crime, men who have reached 60 years of age, foreign nationals, people who have committed offenses by negligence, as well as first-time offenders that do not pose a significant public danger.
The right of the Senate to make a decision on amnesty is applied in the country since 2005 - since the beginning of the bicameral parliament. Prior to that, this act was the exclusive prerogative of the President of Uzbekistan. Senate of Uzbekistan for the first time adopted a resolution on amnesty in 2005 in connection with the 13th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution.
