Uzbekistan has outrun Kyrgyzstan and India in terms of index of information and communication technologies

Almaty. November 23. Silkroadnews – In terms of index of information and communication technologies (ICT) Uzbekistan has outrun Kyrgyzstan, India and Pakistan, UzTAG reports.

As noted in the report “Measuring the information society” by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), about 43.2% of households have computers and 52.6% of households have access to the Internet at home in Uzbekistan.

With this, around 42.8% of Uzbekistan’s population use the Internet. The number of fixed broadband Internet users is 3.57 per 100 people. The number of active mobile Internet users in Uzbekistan reached 28.69 per 100 people.

South Korea, Iceland and Denmark rank the first in the index list. The last three places are occupied by Guinea-Bissau, Chad and Niger respecively.

ICT development index is composed of three sub-indices: access, use and sub-index of practical skills, each of which reflects the various aspects and components of ICT development in 175 countries.
