Uzbekistan removed its patrols from the Ungar-Too site on the border with Kyrgyzstan

Almaty. September 19. Silkroadnews – Uzbek police officers left the Ungar-Too, KyrTAG said.

«On September 18, 2016, the Uzbek side removed its border patrols of Ministry of Internal Affairs from Ungar-Too, this was officially announced during the negotiations of representatives of the border of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan», Public Relations and Mass Media Department of the State Border Service of Kyrgyzstan reported.

It also reported that starting from 08:00 a.m. on September 19 the checkpoints on the Kyrgyz-Uzbek state border have begun to operate in the normal regime.

«KR State Border Service units continue to provide the national border control under heavy security regime», representatives of Kyrgyzstan's Border Service inform.

Recall, on August 22 several employees of the Interior Ministry of Uzbekistan landed from two helicopters on the disputed part of the border. During this operation the Uzbek side has detained four Kyrgyz citizens, employees of radio relay station. The detainees were delivered to the police department of Namangan region and held there until September 8.
