Uzbekistan suggests building the third refinery

Almaty. March 1. Silkroadnews – Uzbekistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Rustam Azimov stated the need for the third refinery construction and urged Turkey to participate in this construction, Uzbek Telegraph Agency (UzTAG) reported.

Deputy prime minister also noted the potential for mutually beneficial partnerships in such areas as petrochemicals, development of gold, silver and uranium fields.

“Currently there are two refineries operating in Uzbekistan. We plan to build the third one. We believe the Turkish side can be involved in this project realization”, Rustam Azimov said.

“We are ready to open a new page in the economic and trade cooperation between the two countries”, he also noted and added that Uzbekistan is ready to raise investments to expand the transport infrastructure.

“Turkey is the first state that recognized Uzbekistan’s independence and Uzbek people will never forget this”, R. Azimov said.
