Uzbekistan will create a joint venture for the construction of the 4th line of the gas pipeline to China

Almaty. August 21. Silkroadnews - China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) and the National Holding Company (NHC) "Uzbekneftegaz" will create a joint venture for the construction of the fourth line of the Uzbek section of the gas pipeline "Central Asia-China", said to KazTag source in the Uzbek government.
Agreement on the establishment of the joint venture on a parity basis was signed on Wednesday during a visit to China of President Islam Karimov. Constituent documents may be signed by the end of 2014. Construction of the new line capacity of 30 billion cubic meters per year can begin in the first half of 2015, said the source.
Currently, the joint venture «Asia Trans Gas», created by "Uzbekneftegaz" and CNPC in 2008, plans to complete the construction of the third line of the Uzbek section of the pipeline capacity of 25 billion cubic meters and a total length of 529 km. The new line will increase the total capacity of the pipeline to 55 billion cubic meters.
