Uzbekistan will invest over $1 billion to the state program "Year of attention and care for the older generation"
Almaty. March 2. Silkroadnews - The Government of Uzbekistan in 2015 will allocate $1.143 billion for the implementation of the state program "Year of attention and care for the older generation". The corresponding decree was signed by President Islam Karimov, informs KazTAG.
According to the document, the financing of the state program will be funded by internal resources (budget, business associations, commercial bank loans) in the amount of 2.247 trillion soums and international financial institutions and grants of $229.6 million.
The State Program includes 6 chapters and 66 points, which are scheduled to "carry out a wide range of measures to improve the level and quality of life of older people, increase the scale of their material and moral support, to improve the social, pension and health care of older people, especially veterans of War and labor front of 1941-1945".
In particular, Uzbekistan plans in 2015 to start the update of 30 thousand apartments and houses of veterans, qualified to conduct free medical examination of 150 thousand elderly, to carry out modernization of existing and construction of new medical and health facilities for the elderly. For social development and improving the efficiency of social support will be allocated about 60% of all expenditures of the state budget.
In December 2014, Karimov declared 2015 the Year of attention and care for the older generation.
