Almaty. November 23. Silkroadnews - Vice speaker of Iran’s parliament calls for establishment of Iran-South Korea joint economic commission, the Iranian Telegraph Agency (IrTAG) reported referring to Iran Daily newspaper.
“Parliament vice Speaker Masoud Pezeshkian stressed the need for setting up of Iran-South Korea joint economic commission, saying that Tehran is ready for promoting relations with Seoul,” the report said.
He said this at the meeting with the head of South Korea-Iran Parliamentary Friendship Group Chun Jung-bae, who pays an official visit to Tehran as the head of the parliamentary delegation of South Korea.
Hailing the developing bilateral relations, Pezeshkian said Iran and South Korea have many opportunities, especially in trade and economy.
With this he noted that boosting parliamentary relations will help to ease the use of such opportunities and the Iranian parliament is ready to develop bilateral relations.
It is reported that Iran and South Korea have good cooperation in the fields of home appliances, medicine, automaking and energy, but there are areas providing space for future cooperation.
Jung-bae, for his part, expressed the hope that the officials of the two countries would discuss new areas of cooperation and in the near future the joint economic commission will meet for its next session.
