Volume of express mail delivery in China has become the world’s largest
Almaty. October 11. Silkroadnews – China’s volume of express mail delivery has become the world’s largest, People’s Daily reported.
“China’s express delivery volume has topped the world for three consecutive years, contributing 40% to the global growth of the industry, Ma Junsheng, director general of the country’s State Post Bureau, said,” the report said.
According to Ma, business volume and revenue of China’s mail service increased 3.6 and 2.7 times, respectively, since the end of 2012.
Data published by China’s E-Commerce Research Center, number of online buyers in China is about 40% of the country’s population.
Due to e-commerce rapid development, for five consecutive years China maintained a 50% growth rate of the express delivery industry, processing 100 million parcels daily.
With this it is noted that the development of the logistics industry also encourages courier companies to strive for faster delivery, thus, 84.62% of all parcels shipped less than 1,000 kilometers can be delivered within 48 hours.
It is reported that in the first half of 2017, China processed 17.32 billion express parcels, up 30.7% from last year. As a result, the industry’s revenues also grew by 27.2% to 21.82 billion yuan ($3,31 billion).
