Almaty. March 16. Silkroadnews – Electricity surplus observed in Kazakhstan over the recent years may end in 2025, KazTAG reports.

“In case the consumption growth develops according to the current forecast, in 2025 we will come to full energy supply. Indeed, the ministry and all the enterprises will work to raise the capacity further until 2025 to prevent a deficit. This is provided by the current legislation. Yet to put it simply we say we have created such a surplus, which, even we are doing nothing, will be sufficient until 2025”, Sungat Yessimkhanov, Chairman of the Committee for Atomic and Energy Supervision and Control of the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan, said.

At present, the electricity surplus in Kazakhstan is up to 5000 MW in summer and around 3500 MW in winter season.
