Xi Jinping called to use big data to improve people’s lives

Almaty. December 12. Silkroadnews - Xi Jinping called for the use of data sets to improve the lives of citizens, the China Daily reported.
“Implementing a big data strategy to better serve the country’s development and improve people’s lives should be accelerated, President Xi Jinping said. President also calls for tech firms to aid manufacturing, governments, security,” the report said.
“We should target cutting-edge technology and mobilize prime resources to make breakthroughs in developing core big data technology, and accelerate building an independent and controllable industrial chain, value chain and ecosystem of big data,” Xi said.
The president called for efforts to promote the national big data strategy, improve the digital infrastructure, promote integration and sharing digital resources and ensure data security.
He added, the big data should serve as a bridge for the integration of production and research.
Xi stressed the importance of creating a digital economy using data as a key factor, emphasizing the fact that research and use of big data are indispensable in building a modern economy.
According to the president, the internet, big data, artificial intelligence and the real economy should be interconnected, and industrialization and use of information should be integrated even deeper.
Xi also emphasized that it is necessary to create a nationwide platform for information exchange using e-government systems and smart city systems.
President also called for more effective use of data sets in improving people’s well-being, calling for the advancement of “internet plus education”, “internet plus medical treatment” and “internet plus culture” to further ensure citizens’ equitable access to public services, as well as the widespread use of data sets in such areas as education, employment, social security, medicine and health, housing and transport.
According to him, big data should also be widely used in implementation of targeted poverty reduction and environmental protection and the protection of technical patents, digital copyrights and personal data should be strengthened for the purposes of social stability and national security.
