“Yellow” terrorist threat regime is imposed in Kazakhstan for 40 days

Almaty. June 6. Silkroadnews – 40 days “yellow” regime of terrorist threat has been imposed in Kazakhstan, the press service of the National Security Committee of Zhambyl oblast reported on Monday, KazTAG wrote.

“With account of the situation arising, the head of the Republican operational headquarter for fight against terrorism, chairman of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Lieutenant-General V.Z. Zhumakanov, due to chapter 4 of the rules of organization and operation of the national information system of monitoring and warning on the threat of a terrorist acts, has imposed a moderate “yellow” level of terrorist threat for a period of 40 days “within Almaty, Akmola, Aktobe, Atyrau, East Kazakhstan, West Kazakhstan, Zhambyl, Karaganda, Kyzylorda, Kostanai, Mangistau, Pavlodar, North Kazakhstan and South Kazakhstan regions, and Astana and Almaty cities,” the statement informed on Monday.

The department of the national security committee has also urged Kazakhstani people to keep alert, pay attention to the items (bags, boxes, parcels, bags, suitcases, etc.) left unattended, especially in case of wires and technical equipment nearby, as well as suspicious people in public places and transport.

Also, the department officials call not to touch the suspicious subjects and not to take for storage or transportation any suspicious items, especially if given by the unknown people.

They also ask to “be receptive on the actions of law enforcement agencies officers when they check the documents and provide them with all possible assistance”.

The citizens are advised not to panic and follow the official information as provided by the state bodies.
