Yuriy Gagarin monument vandalised in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek. April 21. Silkroadnews – Yuriy Gagarin monument has been vandalised in the Kyrgyz Province of Issyk-Kul near Barskoon Canyon.
Facebook user Kasiyet Karacholova posted these news on her page.
“The first USSR cosmonaut once loved to spend his holidays on the south coast of Issyk-Kul. The monument dedicated to him was erected in Barskoon Canyon, Issyk-Kul Province. This historical and cultural heritage is in such a [dreadful] condition now and the monument needs help. Yuriy Gagarin’s face has been painted over by some vandals”, she writes.
This canyon used to also have a monument dedicated to Soviet cosmonauts that used to get special training in these Kyrgyz Mountains. However that monument was also destroyed by vandals a few years ago.
