Beijing. April 2. Silkroadnews - Vice Premier of China Han Zheng called for a smooth, unremitting reorganization of the State Council, China Daily reports.
Han, who is also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, delivered a speech at a meeting of the State Council on advancing the reform.
The fundamental aim of the reform is to transform the government functions and optimize the functions of state institutions, Han said, noting that the effectiveness of the government’s performance should be improved in all areas.
“The government’s functions of economic regulation and market supervision should be strengthened and improved, while micromanagement and direct intervention should be reduced. The government’s roles in public service and social management should be strengthened to ensure and improve people’s living standards,” he said.
Han also called for a smooth implementation of reforms, without unfulfilled responsibilities and undone jobs.
Earlier this month, China announced large-scale plans for personnel reshuffling, including the formation, merger and reform of several state agencies.
