Kazakhstan urges UNESCO to include 3 National Parks in its World Heritage registry

Astana. May 6. Silkroadnews – Kazakhstan urges UNESCO to include Karatau, Naursum, Barsa-Kelmes nature reserve in its World Heritage registry, as Kazakh Ministry of Culture informs.
Moreover, the nomination portfolio for “Altay” trans-border Biosphere Reserve is being jointly drafted with Russia. The charter of UNESCO regional glaciological centre is being finalised.
“The centre will analyse the dynamics of natural processes in the zone, such as water resources origination, which is highly important for sustainable development of Central Asia”, the message states.
As Kazakh Minister of Culture Arystanbek Muhamediuly informs, Astana will host the first inter-regional session of the national commissions o UNESCO issues this June. UNESCO Senior management and representatives of national commissions from across the world are to take part in the session.
