115 people have been sentenced to prison on telecommunications fraud case in East China

Almaty. August 31. Silkroadnews – 115 people have been sentenced to prison on telecommunications fraud case in East China, Xinhua news agency reported.
“A court in east China’s Zhejiang Province on Wednesday sentenced 115 people to prison terms for telecom fraud”, report said. The highest sentence given made 12 and a half years.
Most of convicted, the publication notes, are graduates of high schools and colleges, who have joined the companies engaged in telecommunications fraud through the labor market and job-hunting sites.
According to report, as a result of the trial it was found that in 2013-2015 six defendants founded three companies in Hefei City, Anhui Province, that swindled more than 30 million yuan (around $4.6 million) from over 20,000 residents of various regions of the country through the telecommunications network.
Last January police of Haining city exposed the criminal group, the number of defendants in the case reached 141 people.
