122 development project will be implemented in the agricultural sector of Afghanistan

Almaty. April 19. Silkroadnews – This year (according to the Islamic calendar), the ministry of agriculture of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan plans to implement not less than 122 development projects, minister Nasir Ahmad Durrani said, Afghan News Agency (AfTAG) reports.

According to the minister, the projects to the value of 434 million afghani (around $6.4 million) are funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Union of Industrial and Employers’ Confederations of Europe (UNICE).
Primarily the projects will be directed to the protection of crops and buildings from the devastating floods and providing the rural residents with drinking water.

It is important that the projects realization will allow thousands of the country’s people in the country to find employment. The minister added that private companies will be involved as contractors and subcontractors.
It is worth noting that in the most parts of the country’s rural areas many people still do not have access to clean drinking water which results in high number of death due to infectious diseases.
