Almaty. July 22. Silkroadnews - 200 climbers can not come down from the mountains in Kyrgyzstan, they are waiting for the helicopter, reports KyrTAG.
"Currently, there are more than 800 tourist-climbers in the mountains of the Kyrgyzstan. More than 200 tourists are at the area where it is difficult to come down. They have their own schedulle of climb-down, but because of the recent crash of helicopter in Issyk-Kul region, all aviation work was stopped until further order of the government. So the date of their climb-down is now in question", - said the president of the Kyrgyz Association of Tour Operators Elena Kalashnikova on Tuesday.
According to her, on July 27 in Kyrgyzstan, Batken region starts Russia's open championship on mountaineering, which will bring together teams from 34 countries. Closure of the championship will be held on August 16.
In her opinion, the cessation of rescue operations in case of various emergencies will undermine the image of Kyrgyzstan as a tourism country.
"We hope that the government will allow the Armed Forces to make flights untill the end of the tourist season in Kyrgyzstan, that is, until the end of August" - she added.
As reported, on July 18, 2014 at 10.15 am at the rescue operation to evacuate the climber with a broken leg in the mountains of the Issyk-Kul region - near Sary-Jazz (North Enilchek) crashed helicopter Mi-8. None of the crew members, as well as the climber were affected.
